As a collaborative research project with Echi River Fishery Cooperative Association and a citizens’ group working on environmental conservation in the river, water is periodically sampled at 10 sites on the Echi River to survey on Ayu sweetfish, Plecoglossus altivelis, to monitor its upstream migration.
